Witchblade – I’d heard the name before, and it turns out that the origin of this anime is with an American comic book (er… sorry, “graphic novel”). I’d put off watching this one because I figured it’d be like one of those wannabe anime (Teen Titans), except in reverse. Putting my snobbery aside, I give you my first impressions of the Witchblade anime:

It was an intense battle between everyone’s favorite tsunderekko and the up and coming crossdresser! So who takes home the victory? Whose cuisine reigns supreme!?
I was really looking forward to seeing this anime, so when I saw it listed on Tokyotosho, my heart nearly skipped a beat! Well, maybe not, but I do get excited whenever a new anime gets subbed! So was Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle really worth the wait?

About a month or so ago, my brother took a trip to Japan. When he asked me if I wanted him to bring me anything back, the first thing I thought of was naturally a cardboard box that said “mikan” on it. I mean, it’s not like I can just order one of those online! After trying to explain the allure of such an item (and failing; he’s not a big anime watcher), I just told him to get me whatever. He succeeded in getting some cool stuff, but I’m still without a mikan box.

Recently, gg fansubs released this anime with the description: “This anime is so serious that it’s a comedy.​” I figured then that it would at least good for a laugh. What I got was the humor of Suzumiya Haruhi Ep. 1, except that with this anime, it’s totally unintentional!
With a name like “Good Witch of the West,” I thought this anime was probably going to be an Oz gaiden or something… It turns out that Nishi no Yoki Majo is actually a fairy tale romance anime. I had read some pretty good reviews for this anime, so I decided to take give it a try.
Before “Asahina Mikuru no Bouken,” there was “Peter Pan no Bouken!” This anime came out in 1989, and was recently fansubbed by C1. So does this anime pass the test of time, or is it teh suck?
Okay, I think I used the word “Haruhi” enough in the title to get your attention.
This Spring Anime season has been pretty darn good. At the top of the heap (for me) are two anime starring girls named “Haruhi.” There’s The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Ouran Host Club.
The eternally raging debate in my mind at the moment: which Haruhi is the better of the two? Certainly they both have their good points. Let’s do some analysis, AoMM style:
Inukami! is a simple anime about a boy and his dog. Err, a boy and his inukami. Plus the inukami also happens to be a hot girl… Together, they fight evil, and… okay, I guess this isn’t really a “simple” anime.
