In addition to releasing a bunch of classic manga (including stuff by Tezuka), Vertical also does translated Japanese literature. I had no reading material for my flight back home for the holidays, so this was a welcome package, even though it doesn’t have any pictures, rendering it a “heavy novel.”
I checked out the first episode of this anime way back in January, but I never got past the first since it made absolutely no sense. I got some comments telling me I should have watched some more. So did things actually get clearer?
It’s become a yearly tradition in my household to sit down during the holidays and watch Itsudatte My Santa. Well, not really, but hey, I got this DVD in the mail, so I might as well review it!

I’ve written about the Mikan box thing before on this blog, and after seeing DiGiKerot’s own “Mikan Watch” segment on his blog, I figured I’d so something similar (AKA rip him off). My first mikan sighting comes from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
This particular mikan sighting happens at 15:03 of episode six, which I just watched. Yeah, I’m just a little bit behind on my anime watching… Also worth noting is the compulsory abandoned kitty inside the mikan box. It kinda reminds me of Shii’s song!
MW is the latest of Osamu Tezuka’s manga to be translated and released here in the US by Vertical Inc. And apparently (by reading the katakana on the book) it’s pronounced “MOOO!” Like a cow!
