Rizelmine was one of my most favorite anime ever. I watched it a really long time ago, probably around when I was only starting to get into anime. I was totally surprised to see that the manga was licensed in America by Tokyopop, as the subject matter seemed very un-American. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
It’s no secret that my favorite anime are usually the insane gag type. Like Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu or Excel Saga or Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I just finished watching Animation Runner Kuromi, which sorta falls into that category. It was directed by Akitaro Daichi, who did Gag Manga Biyori and Jubei-chan. He also did Sexy Commando!!! So it should freaking awesome, right?
In the second volume of Buso Renkin, the butterfly glasses guy is featured prominently. This obviously makes the volume the greatest in manga history. Or does it?
The Boogiepop franchise seems to be one of the more popular in anime and manga. Strangely, I’ve never really gotten into it. When I did decide to get into the series, I chose the original source of the story, the light novel!
Origin ~Spirits of the Past~ or Gin-Iro no Kami no Agito is Studio Gonzo’s first full length theatrical anime movie. It was released about a year ago in Japan, and it was shown in America in September of last year. It was finally released on DVD by Funimation this month.
I seriously believe that 2007 will be the year of the light novels. You know, those books with occasional illustrations that a lot of manga and anime are based on? I took a look at the Scrapped Princess light novel, Song of the Forgiven. I didn’t actually realize it was the second book in the series until starting this review!

Kodocha is one of those legendary anime that I’ve never seen. Well, actually I had seen a few episodes on fansub back in the day and gave up on it. But now I have the DVD, so I’m giving it another shot!
Black Jack is yet another famous manga turned anime from the one and only Osamu Tezuka. This dude is seriously some kind of genius! I don’t think he’s ever let me down before. So does Black Jack continue the awesomeness streak or is it totally lame?
