D.Gray-man is another one of the shounen anime out this season. I guess it’s supposed to be one of the more popular series. Death Note, another shounen anime, actually ended up looking pretty good. Can D.Gray-man escape the lameness that most shounen shows exhibit?
Asatte no Houkou was fairly high on my list of Fall 2006 anime to watch mainly because it wasn’t an h-game harem anime or a lame shounen anime. It’s more like a slice of life anime with a twist. Asatte no Houkou is the story of a girl who wants to grow up and a woman who wants to start over.
For the most part, Japanese horror stuff makes me laugh. For example, I thought Ayakashi and Jigoku Shoujo were really funny. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni wasn’t really that scary either. Ghost Hunt doesn’t really seem like a typical horror anime, though. I think it’s more Ghostbusters than Friday the 13th.
Having read the first volume of the Death Note manga (and liking it), I had high hopes for the anime. It’s actually a pretty good thing that I read the manga, since I probably wouldn’t have been able to really understand the anime without doing so.
Kin-Iro no Chord is the long awaited anime about band! As a band nerd, I pretty much have to watch this and enjoy it. So does the anime end up looking sharp or falling flat (ugh!)?

The uber-high definition raw of Kemono Zume was released recently, and I had a chance to check it out. In my Summer 2006 anime preview, I figured this anime would resemble Blood+. My predictions been totally off this season…
Flag was actually one of the first anime to air for the Summer season. I didn’t see a raw until a while back, and the first episode just got subbed a few days ago. I really didn’t think much of the anime, but I only had a picture to base that opinion on (irony!).
I got super psyched when I saw a bunch of new anime listed on Anidb for August. They’re mostly OVAs, but one extra TV series was added along with Kemono Zume. Seeing the art for Hanoka got me psyched! The psychitude only lasted until I actually started watching the anime, though…
Night Head Genesis wins the funny engrish name anime award this season, closely edging out Coyote Ragtime Show. So what the heck is this anime about? Brothers. Psychic brothers.
