My Spring 2007 anime preview continues today with Idol Master Xenoglossia, CLAYMORE, Wellber no Monogatari ~Sisters of Wellber~, Darker Than Black – Kuro no Keiyakusha and Kamichama Karin. Get ready for pure speculation!

Idol Master Xenoglossia

Idol Master Xenoglossia is based on an idol simulation game where you train young girls to become pop idols. Hopefully this anime won’t be as bad as that other idol show, Lovedol… This one also includes mecha for some reason. Are Japanese people just randomly adding mecha to all shows now!?

I can’t see how this anime could be very good, but I might watch one episode to see how bad it is. Apparently DiGiKerot likes Idol Master enough to buy the super secret special edition…

It looks like it’s finally time for the Spring anime season previews. Or at the very least, it’s good to use as filler since I’ll be out of town for a week. For this preview, I take a look at Hitohira, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, Gegege no Kitaro, Hayate the Combat Butler and Seto no Hanayome.

Hitohira

From the trailer that I watched, it looks like Hitohira is about some girl who can’t talk. I’m pretty sure “mute” and “can talk” are on the list of moe charm points, and this girl seems pretty moe to me. She seems to be pretty close to her friend (yuri!!!) who’ll probably help her to learn to speak up. The character designs look really cute, and the possible (only suggested?) yuri means I’ll be watching.

There’s also a Hitohira manga. Too bad it’s a seinen or I might be able to read it.

After doing a post on one of those direct download anime sites, I figured it’d be only fair to do some reviews of the sites that offer legal anime downloads. A few of these have popped up over the past few months, though not much has really been written about them.

Today I’ll look at ADV Universe. ADV Universe is ADV Films’ own anime download service. They offer DRM protected windows media files of their anime for download.

I’ve never really felt the need to sign up for a direct download anime site before. Bittorrent does just fine, and I don’t really like the thought of people actually profiting from fansubs. One of these sites, called AnimeGround, set up an account for me to try out, so I figured what the heck?
