Yomiageru Sora Rescue Wings wasn’t really high on my list of anime to watch, but since new anime are scarce, I decided to give it a chance. Plus, what else am I gonna write about?
Yomiageru Sora Rescue Wings is about one Uchida Kazuhiro, who has just moved into a new city. He’s a pilot for a rescue squad, although what he really wanted to do was fly fighter jets. Most of the first episode shows Uchida moving into his apartment. If I hadn’t seen any descriptions of this anime, I would’ve sworn this was a slice of life anime.
For an anime named "Rescue Wings," I was hoping there would be more action in the first episode. Basically, we’re introduced to a few characters, including Uchida’s (girl?)friend Megumi, his super mean superior, and his psychic mom. Okay, she might not really be psychic, but she’s good.
One more note: I really liked the tv ads in this show. Not the actual ads, but the fake ads. There was one for a taxi company, and a parody of Nissan, Missan. I think I also spotted a possible orz in the first episode. Okay, it’s probably not, but I think the whole orz subculture is pretty interesting, so I thought I’d add that.
This anime seemed to save a bunch of money on character designs by making a lot of the characters "voice only." Both Megumi and Uchida’s mom (for now) are only heard on the phone. The rest of the characters seem too "realistic" looking for my tastes. I guess this is a more serious anime, but there’s no kawaii schoolgirls or anything! I’d have to say that character design is a bit lacking, but we’ll see when perhaps more characters are introduced.
The animation for Rescue Wings is actually pretty good. The characters are fairly fluid. However, this anime employs one of my biggest pet peeves: CG! The scenes of the CG planes and helicopters look way fake! If they were made to fit more into the animation, I might be able to accept them, but as they are, they’re way too shiny and… well.. computer graphicy.
The first episode didn’t include the OP, but I cheated and listened to it from the second episode. Personally, I like the OP. It’s kinda different while being kinda the same. The ED is awesomely cheesy. The guy’s voice just goes crazy with vibrato! The ED is definitely sung in bad taste, but I love it for that.

Overall, Yomigaeru Sora Rescue Wings feels very generic. The first episode was way too slow for my tastes, and it just doesn’t feel like the kind of anime I’d enjoy watching. That coupled with the bad CG make me want to drop it right now. The cheese factor of the ED brings the anime up, but not quite enough for me to keep watching.

PS: what is ORZ? XD
just got this anime in a batch, and…its as boring as can be. after episode 5 i just skipped through he rest of them. Even in the process of skipping through the rest of the episodes, nothing caught my interests in stopping and watching.
Alright, first you do not use the word 坿„›ã„ in an English sentence. Also, how is a show that lacks Loli generic? The animations are very realistic, or you’re just too used to how other things show planes in the way that they accelerate almost instantaneously, furthermore, in real life metal actually is shiny, and you should give them credit for actually taking the time to draw realistic models.
